Karen Ng

Karen Ng is a Product Fellow at Fellows Fund and the Senior Vice President of Product and Partnerships at HubSpot.

At HubSpot, Karen oversees the Smart CRM, Operations Hub, and Ecosystem product teams, as well as strategic partnerships and business development. She leads the company's work in unified and unstructured data and how that is transforming growth for millions of organizations. Karen is an established product leader and has a clear track record of creating products that make people’s lives better—at a scale of millions. Previously, she was VP of Product and Data at Common Room, a series-b startup where she founded the product management and machine learning teams, guiding the company from 0–1 to its first significant revenue milestones. At Google, she served as Director of Product Management for Android and Wear, driving 0–1 innovations such as Jetpack Compose and Android Jetpack, which became essential tools for leading mobile apps. During her tenure at Microsoft, she led key initiatives, including Microsoft’s .NET programming language strategy, the 0-1 ‘Roslyn’ .NET compiler platform that is still the basis of C# and VB today, the reboot of the MSDN Developer Network, and the development of groundbreaking tools and cloud services for developers.

Recognized as a Product 50 Winner for “Best Digital Native Product Leader,” Karen is also an angel investor and expert in due diligence, with a passion for empowering startups. She holds three patents in areas such as code usage, syntax representation, and social-based recommendation systems, and her publications have advanced understanding in stress detection, interactive health assessments, and robotic expressivity. Karen’s achievements reflect her dedication to creating transformative products that scale to improve millions of lives while fostering an inclusive tech culture. She earned her M.S. in Media Arts and Sciences from MIT, focusing on machine learning, and a B.A. in Computer Science from Wellesley College.
